          Release, Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Indemnification

This Document waives important legal rights.  Read carefully before signing

I, the undersigned, recognize the risk, hazards and dangers inherent with horseback riding, grooming or being in contact with horses including, but not limited to, falling, being bucked from, struck or kicked by a horse.  I elect voluntarily to participate in the equine activities at Alder Hill Farm (hereinafter AHF) and am assuming the hazard of this risk upon myself since I wish to ride, care, and/or be around my horse or other horses located on AHF.

I hereby personally assume all risks in connection with my riding, grooming and being in contact with horses on AHF and release, discharge and promise not to sue AHF, its owners, officers and employees, horse owners and land owners for any loss, damage, injury (including death) or cost to the rider, owner, horse or equipment arising out of or relating to the riding, grooming, caring for or being in contact with my own, or other, horses on the AHF. 

For and in consideration of the caring for and/or riding of any horse, including but not limited to my own horse on the AHF premises, I hereby agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless AHF and any its owners, officers and employees, horse owners and land owners harmless from all claims arising out of my riding, grooming, caring for, or being in contact with any horses on AHF.  I understand AHF cannot and does not represent or warrant the quality, character or nature of the horses located on their premises.  I accept full responsibility for the cost of treatment for any injury suffered while taking part in any equine-related or other activities on AHF.

I have read the above Release and Waiver of Liability and fully understand the nature and unpredictability of horses and that I accept full responsibility for any injuries I might receive from whatever cause due to my riding, grooming, associating with or caring for my own, or other, horses on the AHF. 

I agree to pay any and all attorneys fees to the above individuals and organization.  Signing this waiver shall be deemed acceptance of this waiver.  

Under Missouri law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities pursuant to the Revised Statutes of Missouri.

If the rider or visitor is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian’s signature on this waiver shall apply to the minor rider or visitor.
